I Like Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst at the "Spiderman 3" Premiere in Madrid, Spain.

"Do you know what man? I like Kirsten Dunst. She's a good actress, she's usually in good movies, she's cute, she doesn't seem like a mega-bitch, and she's got good taste in men.
(Jake Gyllenhaal, anyone?)
What's with this anti-Kiki train everyone seems to be on lately? (Perez Hilton mostly) So what if she parties sometimes? She's certainly not on the level of Lindsay or Paris! And, unlikethose two, she actually works. Furthermore, she has good style. Has anyone seen what she's been wearing to promote Spidey 3? Classy, alternative, stylish. I don't know what Perez is on.
Also, she actually made a smooth transition from child star to adult. In interviews she seems pretty down-to-earth, and no one who knows her really has anything bad to say about her. Finally, anyone with "Eternal Sunshine", the Spiderman movies, two Sofia Coppola movies, "Interview with a Vampire" and "Bring It On" in their resume obviously have a strong career.
So, yeah, I like Kiki Dunst. And I'm not ashamed to say it!"

The original brown eyed girl

THICK AS A WHAT-ALL.
Hi, I am having hard times, folks, as usual. But a wave of rage increased my anguish after revising an old mail account and reading a message which had fallen through the cracks from an ex, claiming I had to be a closeted lesbian as the only possible weight-motive for having broken up with him in the past. According to his words (translating from his frightening Spanglish slang): Jake Gyllenhaal (or, more specifically this blog) was a sort of another Merkin for me. It wouldn't be so comical if my health wasn't falling apart these days. Quoting the words of a fan of "Brick": "That made my head hurt like the sharp pain of eating ice cream too fast." -allfivesenses.
Conclusions: Despite my zillions female-crushes, I’m straight (and married). Some guys are assholes.

Weirdland stops again

This is terribly sad for me to say, but after experiencing new complications in my health state (not serious, but enough to prevent me for spending long hours in front of my computer, in order to avoid an accumulative effect of repetitive actions which could damage my neural system) and another vicissitudes happening in my life (most of them are good, but demanding) "Jake Weird" is going to stop again. I guess I'll add occasionally some posts in the future, but the daily posting is over by now, sorry, I know my usual readers were accustomed to a fluid posting but believe me, it's more frustrating for me than for you to stop. In the awaiting you can read old posts and keep pondering about Jake Gyllenhaal's charms, music oldies, (neo) noir stories and cinema. Love, Kendra.

Brown Eyed Girl

Natalie Portman in "Closer" and "V for Vendetta" (below).

Alyssa Milano.
"In the film Donnie refers to "Married with Children" (1987) and, more specifically, Christina Applegate during conversations about sex with his therapist. The script initially called for Donnie's fantasies to be about Alyssa Milano. This had to be changed however when Richard Kelly was denied the legal rights to reference her in this manner." Nora Zehetner in "Brick".
Winona Ryder.
Rose McGowan.

"Hey where did we go,
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow,
Playin' a new game,
Laughing and a running hey, hey
Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our hearts a thumpin' and you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.
Whatever happened
To Tuesday and so slow
Going down the old mine
With a transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight laughing,
Hiding behind a rainbow's wall,
Slipping and sliding
All along the water fall, with you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.
Do you remember when we used to sing,
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
So hard to find my way,
Now that I'm all on my own.
I saw you just the other day,
My how you have grown,
Cast my memory back there, Lord
Sometime I'm overcome thinking 'bout
Making love in the green grass
Behind the stadium with you
My brown eyed girl
You my brown eyed girl
Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da."

Coincidences

"Young men everywhere are aging at warp speed, and irony -the missile shield of another era- is of limited use to us anymore. "To have someone as good-looking as Jake inhabit a character who's alienated, who's an outsider, puts a face on that archetype that's very real", says "Donnie Darko" writer-director Richard Kelly, "part of the reason people have embraced the character is because they see part of themselves in him" -GQ magazine interview, June 2004.
"Watching it ["Brick"] is watching something magical. "Brick" is one of the most quotable movies I have ever seen. There are parts that some people won't even understand at all, and when people come up to me quoting lines from this movie, I'll really get a kick out of that" -Joseph Gordon-Levitt for an interview in Ellegirl magazine, 2005.

Sarah Roemer Looks Like Ellen Pompeo: "Seriously. I was looking at the LA premier pics of Disturbia and ever time she came up I thought she was Ellen Pompeo. She's got the same smile and hair and tan. Its uncanny." -HellBoy_Chick in IMDb message board for Sarah Roemer.
